Making Places – a Local Place Plan for Leith
Making Places is a community generated Local Place Plan for Leith. For the plan to be the best, and most relevant it can be, we need input from everyone across the area.
Between June and October 2019, we will be supporting events in partnership with:
- Dr Bells family Centre
- Leith Community Centre
- Norton Park
- Leith Central, Leith Links and Leith Harbour & Newhaven Community Councils
Alongside pop-up events, including at the Leith Gala day and in the Newkirkgate Shopping Centre in June, we will be co-developing a Leith Conference, 12/13 Oct, so save the date!
Making Places is a cross-community partnership project with the talented help of the following organisations.
- World Kitchen in Leith are a multi-cultural food collective based on the simple idea that food is the best way to bring people together. Combining home cooking with community they explore friendship, identity and belonging through food. https://www.leithopenspace.co.uk/world-kitchen-in-leith/
- Biomorphisis an architecture & design practice dedicated to a sensitive approach to the built environment based on affordable systems, sustainability and art. http://www.biomorphis.com/
- Here + Nowis a team of landscape architects, designers and photographers, offering co-design tools and solutions for landscape architecture with the aim of putting people at the heart of place & design. http://www.thehereandnow.org.uk/
